Studio of Music is a private music studio for music study
and development on the viola, violin, guitar and mandolin. Mark
is a graduate from the Miriam Canon Hayes School of Music at Appalachian
State University in Boone, NC. His principal instruments are the
viola and violin. In addition to his private studio, Mark can
be found teaching at the Community Music School of the North Carolina
School of the Arts, Forsyth Country Day School, and historic Separk
Music in Downtown Winston-Salem. Also, Mark is an adjunct instructor
at Appalachian State University in the Department of Technology
where he engages students in the pursuit of understanding and
learning computer technologies.
Lessons are generally taught at Mark's home in Ardmore near Ardmore United Methodist Church. Parents are welcome to stay, listen and relax for 30 minutes, or drop off and pick-up. Most lessons are a half-hour but some more advanced students prefer a hour lesson. Lessons are priced at $20 for a half-hour. Mark is happy to provide help in finding a suitable instrument for all students. He will give advice as to what to look for in an instrument and good places from which to buy.
