Choosing an Elegant Ensemble Size!
The choice is yours of course, but we have a few suggestions for you to consider. A small wedding may only call for a duo. Duos are often performed as a violin and cello ensemble or piano and violin, or harp and violin. Other options with guitar and woodwinds exist too. There are many other combinations available. Larger weddings benefit from the increased volume that is available when a trio or quartet performs. For events of 150 guests or more, we recommend a string quartet with the addition of trumpet. The trumpet adds a really nice accent to the wedding music and will perform a short fanfare to announce the entrance of the bride. You can preview trios and quartets with trumpet in the videos below. Occasionally, we are asked to perform solo. We are happy to do so, but we strongly feel that you will be more happy with the music if you have a harmony instrument accompany and strengthen the melody line. Please ask us if you are not sure what ensemble size you should choose.
